I like dogs and all, but a cat will never eat it’s own shit or suck up to us humans like dogs do, so you have to admire cats for their apparent self belief, independence and pride. We had a cat once who was just such a funny funny character, he would buy and sell the local dogs in the neighbourhood. He used to walk up to them and basically taunt them - daring them - looking for a chase, and invariably he would get it, he would always retreat behind a fence down the end of our lane that he could get through but which he knew the the dogs couldn’t. It was hilarious watching as he emerged and his cautious look out through the bars in the fence after the fulminating dogs had given up the chase and left.
