The Cars Just Keep Crashing And Crashing

They were having some fun in Michigan this week when over 150 cars piled up on I-94, and one person died. It sure sucks to live in a shitty winter climate like that. I think I'll go to the beach today.

in bad weather most people drive like fucking retards or they drive like they never driven before. a very small percentage actually drive using skill, experience, and simply just brains. I saw 3 accidents happen right in front of me this past week. my favorite was this dude in a subaru was fucking around. when he got to the right loop on ramp to the highway, I guess he was trying to drift it. somehow threw his back end right, his front end went left onto the guard rail. I was laughing my ass off.

I guess the cops were too busy shooting people instead of trying to warm people of what's ahead!!

@boobles Trying to stand in front of it like a human traffic cone gets people killed. If I'm not on the clock I'm not putting my life on the line to save some guy a $500 deductible.

Why don't people slow down in "White Out" conditions?

    Shaking his head.

Go faster, assholes. Show us you're superman. Go faster, assholes. No brains, no pain. Go faster, assholes. Why in the world would cars possibly be stopped in front of you? Go faster, assholes. Chances are there aren't any cops around to give you a ticket, so it must be okay. Go faster, assholes.

I expect it from the passenger car drivers, but the commercial truckers should know better. That wasn't even in Russia.

problem was that this was the begining edge of bad weather. 3 miles back you could see for a mile and the snow was not blowing that bad.once you hit the storm it was nothing but white out and before you could slow down this is what you drove into. unbelievable that only 1 died. final toll was 16 injured 1 dead and 193 cars and trucks turned to scrap metal.

  • captjim January 11, 2015

@boobles You really want to run into an area like that where cars and trucks are crashing every 15 fucking seconds?

  • vulture January 11, 2015

@rockinron...3miles is more than enough for idiots to slow down

  • whobe January 11, 2015

If you are driving in bad weather you simply slow down, we do it all the time in Florida during thunderstorm season. When you approach a wall of water you slow down so "you don't" run into the guy who decided to stop in the start of it. If you read your state operators manual before you got your drivers license it tells you how to avoid these situations. If you run into a stationary object "with speed" you obviously aren't following the manual therefore you are a dumbass and "Dont" know how to drive.

Thanks Ron, as much as I hate people I actually was glad to read the outcome, one dead still no good.

I think it was hearing the children panic which always gets to me. Those who aren't parents just don't understand that emotion.

And to those who claim you should slow down, or stop, well an experienced driver will also tell you that you need the roadside to be clear to do that.

Slowing down can be as bad as stopping in those conditions.

Here in Mackay Queensland we have the highest rainfall in Australia over the shortest time period, it's nothing to get 10 inches of rain in an hour, we've had 2 metres / 6 feet in three days back in 1985. I've had to drive through roads at night, no lines visible, absolutely black, and the roads here are built for floods, there are no sides to pull over onto, sometimes not for 50KM / 30Miles. So it's nothing to be driving in pitch black with your head out the window being hit by rain drops the size of a golf ball, while driving through a 300mm / 1 foot of water at 80KMPH.

The car engine labouring, the whole damn thing aquaplaning.

Any slower and you are going to have a road train go over the top of you, that a Semi with three or more trailers behind.

So before you all blame this on stupid drivers, think about where they could pull over, and if they had slowed who would have driven over the top of them anyway.

Most definitely a smaller death toll with this outcome.
