Upclose and Personal with a Tomahawk

The Navy wanted to test out some missiles and we get a front row seat to the action. While I wanted to see that Tomahawk blow that ship to little pieces, I guess just seeing the missile in action is enough. It's amazing how it just skipped across the water after piercing that shipping container.

Im not impressed, it didnt hit the ships hull, so to me its a failure. Blowing the container does nothing.. US Navy.. you fail. Thats what happens when 100 men go in 50 couples come out.

Be advised that was a training missile with no warhead. A high order detonation striking a combat ship's superstructure would've taken out many vital systems. The bridge, CIC, SCIF, and radar antennas could've been damaged or destroyed. A ship doesn't have to be sunken to be taken out of the fight, but the explosion and subsequent fires that happened if this were an actual warship hit by a Tomahawk with some kick added to it might've sunken it.

Tomahawk Block IV has pinpoint accuracy. After being launched by the destroyer Kidd the missile controls were handed over to the F-18 pilot.

That's a non payload tomahawk training missile designed to breach the ship then set off its payload had it been real that container ship would have been fucked. Americas Navy is the baddest boys on the water sailing the world
