Bullets That Go BOOM!

I am no expert when it comes to guns or ammunition but I believe this is a misfire? It looks as if the bullet exploded in the chamber when this person fired the gun. You Crazy Shit members probably no more about guns than I do, so broaden my horizon, let me know what happened here.

I have this same S/W357 magnum with a 6inch barrel, It's not a misfire it's called a catastrophic failure from either a hot load or the wrong type of ammo or possible the roller was not in place or cracked from dropping. Note to self: Check cylinder on 357

Gotta agree with "willylickaball"... Tho mine is Taurus .357 Magnum, but still... Doesn't seem like misfire at all. I've dropped my .357 once pretty badly and after checking up the damages the gun seemed otherwise OK, but the roller got two hair breakages on it... Firing up with a damaged roller is not gonna end up well. A common sense should say that...

willy and madmutha are right on. I was a eyewitness to this exact type of chamber failure when I was a kid. My dad made a few "hot-loads" and my brother got caught in the forehead with shrapnel. 6 days and $80k later, my brother came home, looking different.Let me say for the record. When I saw it happen to my own brother, there was nothing funny about it.

Looked to me like all three rounds went off on the top three chambers. Left in a fire maybe. Perhaps in some storage box cause no ash on the piece.

Cylinder "timing" could have been off causing the projectile to lodge with no place for the spent charge to go except out of the top of the cylinder and into the two rounds next to it causing them to fire as well . Regardless , I wouldn't have wanted to be the operator of this weapon when it happened .

This guy could have bough his ammo from a 3rd party and unfortunately it might have been sabotaged ammo used to render a weapon useless after a small explosion when the firing pin hits the primer cap. sabotaged ammo was used during the war in Vietnam. Do some research if you're interested in finding out more because that is pretty much all i know about that topic.
