I would have loved to be a fighter pilot. You get to blow shit up, go faster than the speed of sound, and did I mention blow shit up.
I cried when Goose died.
I've heard an explanation for why this happens but can't remember it (ganja). Fucking cool though!!
What happens is, the pilot pulls up, while moving at high speed, causing a stall. The drop in air pressure around the wings causes the moisture in the air to condense and form instant clouds.
my first reponse is to say "gay" but this is actually really cool looking
Yea oski , and I love to see them coming off a winged sprinter on a damp night in Hoosier country. Damn those boys can slam a car into the corner , with contrails swirling off the wing.
off the wing tips yu have "wign-tip vortices", which are actually small tornados. Aircraft behind and below can actually get turned upside down by them!
tripod. Is that why Maverick and Goose went down in Top Gun???
you people actually have a education after all. who knew.
Oski, you dont know what the hell your talking about, a stall will not create any condensation around the aircraft. It happens when an aircraft is moving at a HIGH rate of speed, depending on the humidity it can squeeze the moisture out of the air. This will also happen when the aircraft pulls a high number of G's.
i think the snow would of came off during takeoff if that was the case
i thinks its china's also
LOL @ dbcoop, that was pretty scientific, I would never figured it out, since my business is to punch the shit out of my contenders.
SUPERIOR IN EVERYWAY. AMERICA.
the new furry camouflage
OSKI...at the top is exactly right....not wingtip vortices, the water vapor in the air is forced to condense b/c the amount air that had it suspended has been greatly reduced
