Getting Old

on 02.06.2014

I'm sad to say it, but I think I'm getting old. The average age of the guys I train with every day is probably around 20, and most of these kids do nothing but train Jiu-Jitsu full time. They're basically professional athletes that don't get paid shit. I wish I could hang with their pace, but it ain't easy for a man in his mid 30's. Class is fucking intense, but keeping up during a 2 hour training session isn't my problem. It's the other 22 hours of the day when everything aches and I'm too exhausted to think straight. I'm pretty sure my recovery time has doubled in the last few years, but fuck it. That ain't gonna stop me from doing what I love. It's better than wasting my life trolling websites. --Adam

You hit the nail on the head Adam, the true measure of fitness is your recovery rate, mine is 3 months 17 days 3 hours 4 minutes and sixpence.

Just give the New York Yankees training manager a call. I hear he has a sure fire method of reducing recovery time.

That’s why us old dudes collect guns. I’m not fighting a young thug.

Guns for when they're coming. Blades for when they're there.
