They were having some fun in Michigan this week when over 150 cars piled up on I-94, and one person died. It sure sucks to live in a shitty winter climate like that. I think I'll go to the b... Show more

Thanks Ron, as much as I hate people I actually was glad to read the outcome, one dead still no good.

I think it was hearing the children panic which always gets to me. Those who aren't parents just don't understand that emotion.

And to those who claim you should slow down, or stop, well an experienced driver will also tell you that you need the roadside to be clear to do that.

Slowing down can be as bad as stopping in those conditions.

Here in Mackay Queensland we have the highest rainfall in Australia over the shortest time period, it's nothing to get 10 inches of rain in an hour, we've had 2 metres / 6 feet in three days back in 1985. I've had to drive through roads at night, no lines visible, absolutely black, and the roads here are built for floods, there are no sides to pull over onto, sometimes not for 50KM / 30Miles. So it's nothing to be driving in pitch black with your head out the window being hit by rain drops the size of a golf ball, while driving through a 300mm / 1 foot of water at 80KMPH.

The car engine labouring, the whole damn thing aquaplaning.

Any slower and you are going to have a road train go over the top of you, that a Semi with three or more trailers behind.

So before you all blame this on stupid drivers, think about where they could pull over, and if they had slowed who would have driven over the top of them anyway.

Most definitely a smaller death toll with this outcome.

I was half expecting that tanker to blow up like a Michael bay movie, but seriously there's some fucking idiot drivers speeding through bad weather like they are running the Daytona 500 in their moms honda...

If you are driving in bad weather you simply slow down, we do it all the time in Florida during thunderstorm season. When you approach a wall of water you slow down so "you don't" run into the guy who decided to stop in the start of it. If you read your state operators manual before you got your drivers license it tells you how to avoid these situations. If you run into a stationary object "with speed" you obviously aren't following the manual therefore you are a dumbass and "Dont" know how to drive.
